Hello! My name is Daren Johnson, and I have been a fitness coach since 2017. I was introduced to the fitness lifestyle through sports growing up. My goal is to properly educate the community on how important it is to keep a balanced diet, and efficient training program. I always think big picture, and want everyone to achieve their desired lifestyle whether it is strengthening their mindset, losing fat, or adding muscle.
Hello! My name is Stephen. I’ve been into the fitness game since I was a teenager. I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error when it comes to building muscle, eating the proper diet, and losing fat. With as much experience that I’ve gained over the last 15 years or so, I guess you can say I know a thing or two when it comes to getting to where you want to be fitness wise. With the right attitude comes the effort and then the hard work followed by the end results which is what you put in the gym and outside the gym, day in and day out. I’m all about a Positive mindset and making sure my clients achieve the goals they set out for.
Hi! My name is Olivia Lopez and I absolutely love all things health, fitness and mindset! My mission is to make everyone see and achieve their true potential by giving them the knowledge, confidence and support they need in order to reach their health and fitness goals! I was born in Canada and moved to the United States for 5 years in my childhood, moved back to Canada with my family and now living in California with my husband. I majored in Criminology at the University of Ottawa with plans of pursuing a career in criminal justice however I discovered my passion for health and fitness shortly after and knew in my heart I had to follow my passion. It all began with my own fitness journey! From senior year of high school all through my years in University, I had gradually gained weight to the point of not even realizing how my poor eating habits and lack of exercise had caught up to me. Before I knew it none of my clothes fit and I was up 45lbs! I knew I needed to change, so I got my very first gym membership and started working out (mostly cardio) a few times a week. I remember it being so hard in the beginning, but little by little I lost weight and educated myself on proper nutrition. Over time I went to the gym almost every day, prepared all my meals and managed to lose 55lbs on my own! I was proud of my weight loss but after moving to the United States when I married my husband I realized I wanted to feel strong and gain muscle. I began training CrossFit and I actually loved it! It taught me not to be afraid to lift heavy weights and helped me gain muscle. I loved feeling powerful and strong! I then decided to get certified as a personal trainer and got my first job as a trainer at a corporate gym in Corona where I worked for 1 and a half years. When Self Made Corona opened I immediately transferred over and have been training my clients here since January 2016. Throughout my years as a personal trainer I also discovered my passion for bodybuilding and competing. I competed in my first NPC bikini show late 2016 and loved it! In the beginning I was still learning all the ins and outs of competing and coaching myself I had to fail more than a few times to acquire the knowledge I have now. I’ve taken many first place wins since then and even the overall bikini title in a 2019 show. The last two years I have taken my competing career one step further by competing in National level competitions across the country. Although I love competing, prepping for competitions can be rather extreme. I am a big advocate for living a healthy lifestyle year round and finding balance between achieving your fitness goals and living your best life. By finding a nutrition approach that works for you and your lifestyle while applying the knowledge I provide surrounding energy balance and macronutrients we are able to produce sustainable results. I am a big believer that fitness and nutrition should add positivity and value to your life, not add stress to it!
